Job Description

The School Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the safety of students, staff, and visitors using the school swimming pool. This position monitors pool activities, enforces safety rules, responds to emergencies, and provides first aid when necessary. The lifeguard also assists with maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized pool environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise students and pool users to ensure safe swimming practices.
• Enforce all pool rules and school safety policies.
• Monitor the pool area continuously to prevent accidents or unsafe behavior.
• Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies, including water rescues.
• Provide first aid, CPR, or AED assistance when required.
• Conduct routine safety checks of the pool and surrounding facilities.
• Assist teachers, coaches, and swim instructors during classes or activities.
• Maintain accurate incident and accident reports.
• Ensure lifesaving equipment is accessible and in good condition.
• Help maintain cleanliness and organization of the pool deck and equipment areas.

Job Requirement

• Current Lifeguard Certification from a recognized organization (e.g., Red Cross or equivalent).
• Valid CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
• Strong swimming and water rescue skills.
• Ability to remain alert and focused for extended periods.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
